Facts of the case – Jeeja Ghosh vs. Union of India

In this case, Jeeja Ghosh was deboarded from the flight because of her disability by one of the renowned airlines known as SpiceJet. Jeeja Ghosh being, an eminent social activist, was deboarded from the flight forcibly by the crew members giving her disability as the reason.

Judgment –

Supreme Court ordered that Spice Jet Ltd. To pay 10 lakh rupees to the petitioner Jeeja Gosh on account of causing both mental and physical damage.

Not only this, the Apex Court bench, including R.K. Agarwal and A.K. Sikri, introduced the guidelines with regard to persons with disability and with lesser mobility. It was also mentioned that people with disabilities also hold the Right to live with Dignity.
